Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sarnix, the AI appearance preview service at sarnix.io, handles your photos and personal data. “We” and “us” below mean the Sarnix service.

The short version

• Your photos are stored privately and are only used to create the result you asked for.
• Photos and results are deleted automatically: after 24 hours if you are not signed in, and after 30 days if you have an account.
• We never use your photos to train AI models, and we never sell your data.
• Some tools, like the 90s Photo Filter, run entirely in your browser: those photos are never uploaded to us at all.
• To create AI results, your photo is sent to our AI processing providers, which process it on our behalf and only to return the result.

Information we collect

1. Photos you upload and the results we create. Before storage we remove embedded metadata such as GPS location and camera details. Photos are kept in private storage and are only viewable through short-lived, signed links shown to you.
2. Account information. If you sign up: your name, email address and sign-in details (or basic profile data from Google or GitHub if you use them to sign in).
3. Usage information. Which tools and styles you use, whether a result succeeded, and similar product events. We record a one-way hash of your IP address rather than the address itself.
4. Cookies. A session cookie when you are signed in, a device cookie that lets us offer a daily free try without an account, and a language preference cookie. We don't use advertising cookies.
5. Payment information. Payments are handled by our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal or Creem, depending on how you pay). We receive a confirmation, the amount and the email used for payment, but never your full card number.

How we use your photos

Your photo is used for one purpose: to produce the edit you requested. It goes through two automated steps:

1. A quick photo check. Before anything is charged, an AI vision model looks at the photo to confirm it suits the tool — for example that a face is clearly visible, how the person is framed, whether teeth are showing, and that the person appears to be an adult for tools that require it. This check runs through our AI processing provider (fal.ai), which passes the photo via OpenRouter to a Google Gemini model. We keep its findings (such as the position of the face and an estimated age range) with your result and delete them together with the photo.
2. The edit itself. Your photo is sent to our AI image-processing provider (fal.ai, which processes data in the United States) and the result is stored so you can view and download it.

Providers process the photo only to return results to us. We do not create face recognition templates or other identifiers that could recognize you across photos, we do not publish your photos, and we do not use them to train or improve AI models.

How long we keep data

• Photos, results and photo-check findings, not signed in: 24 hours
• Photos, results and photo-check findings, signed in: 30 days
• Account information: until you delete your account
• Usage and billing records: as long as needed for security, accounting and legal obligations

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run the service — AI image processing, cloud hosting and storage, payment processing, email delivery and analytics — and only as needed for them to perform those services for us, or where required by law.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to delete specific photos before the retention period ends. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, including the right to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Contact us and we will respond within the time required by law.

Children

Our service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Please don't upload photos of children. Some tools only work on photos of adults; the photo check stops them before any processing if the person appears to be under 18.

Security

We use encryption in transit, private storage, signed expiring links and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and adjust the date at the top.
